Native to Malaysia and India, Patchouli is known for helping to balance mood, used for skin health and a natural insect repeller.  Indonesian Patchouli oil has an earthy smell, which is often described as strong, sweet, and intoxicating.  It can be burned or diffused to relieve stress and anxiety, added to bathwater or a base oil and rubbed in to the skin for antibacterial and antifungal benefits.  In eastern countries, patchouli oil is used in potpourris and sachets between linen and clothes for the fragrance as well as to keep bedbugs and insects away.

 

Diffusion and Burning: Use three to four drops in the diffuser or oil burner of your choice to help spread the scent around your home.

 

Skin use: 

Dilute Patchouli oil with a suitable base oil such as fractionated coconut oil or sweet almond oil to minimize any skin sensitivity before applying one or two drops to your skin.
